DeepBEAT 4th Consortium Meeting

DeepBEAT held the 4th Consortium Meeting in Freiberg and online

On 30–31 March, the DeepBEAT consortium met in Freiberg, Germany, and online for its 4th Consortium Meeting.

Project partners reviewed recent progress, including results from activities and developments across technical work packages. The meeting also focused on aligning upcoming tasks, with particular attention to advancing data-driven and sustainable mineral exploration approaches.

Discussions highlighted the integration of innovative technologies and methodologies aimed at improving efficiency while reducing environmental impact. Communication and stakeholder engagement activities were also addressed as key elements of the project’s next phase.

The meeting in Freiberg marked an important milestone in maintaining strong collaboration within the consortium and ensuring steady progress toward DeepBEAT’s objectives.

🌍DeepBEAT 3rd Consortium Meeting – Prague, 21–23 October 2025

The DeepBEAT consortium will convene for its 3rd Consortium Meeting at the Czech Geological Survey in Prague.
Over three days, project partners will review fieldwork results, assess progress across work packages, and plan next steps for communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement. Workshops will focus on portable XRF and LIBS technologies and the Hůrky-type deposit, combining hands-on learning with project strategy.
🌲The meeting will further advance DeepBEAT’s mission to develop innovative, environmentally responsible, and socially accepted exploration technologies, shaping Europe’s transition toward a sustainable, climate-neutral future.

The second DeepBEAT Community Event was held on 07.06.2025 in Polvijärvi, Finland!

🌲The second DeepBEAT Community Event was held on 07.06.2025 in Polvijärvi, Finland!
🌍Experts from the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) joined by representatives of FinnCobalt Oy and Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) at HZDR, presented the project’s goals and methodologies to local stakeholders. The event featured open discussions that provided an opportunity to listen to community perspectives and address questions related to geological exploration.
🤝Our sincere thanks to GTK and FinnCobalt for organizing the event, to the speakers for their informative contributions, the Polvijärvi School for hosting the event, and to all local participants for their valuable engagement.
Together, we’re fostering dialogue, transparency, and trust in responsible exploration research.

🌍 Exciting progress in the DeepBEAT project!

The Czech Geological Survey, together with Beak Consultants GmbH, has kicked off an ambitious stream-sediment sampling campaign across the Ore Mountains (on the Czech–German border). With around 500 samples planned, the project is already halfway there.

Upcoming DeepBEAT Community Event in Rakovník

🌲 On Monday, May 19, the Czech Geological Survey and the City of Rakovník will hold an informational meeting and public discussion about the international research project DeepBEAT (Deep Exploration Boosted by Advanced Exploration Technologies).

🌍 The event will introduce DeepBEAT’s objectives — to study the formation of critical and strategic raw material deposits in the EU using cutting-edge, low-impact exploration methods such as surface sampling of plants, soil, and rocks. One of the main research areas will be in the HŮRKY region.
💡 Local representatives, associations, and organizations will be informed about the project’s scientific goals, with space for open dialogue and discussion to ensure transparent communication with communities in the region.
🤝We look forward to a constructive exchange and a strong start to this exciting international collaboration.
